A GP-based organisation that provides high quality care for local people, delivered by local clinicians, whom you know and trust to care for you.
We are an alliance of 21 GP practices who have come together as a GP federation in Hambleton, Richmondshire and Whitby, a largely rural part of North Yorkshire, stretching from Sedbergh in the west to Whitby on the east coast.
Hambleton, Richmondshire and Whitby is a largely rural area of North Yorkshire stretching from the heart of the Yorkshire Dales across to Whitby on the east coast. The region includes the parliamentary constituencies of Richmond; Thirsk and Malton; and Scarborough and Whitby.
Our region is recognised around the world for the beauty of its landscape, shaped by its industrial past and still thriving farming and agricultural industries. There is also a hugely successful tourism economy.
We have a range of distinct communities in our midst, including the long-established military population at Catterick Garrison at Richmond. Catterick is the largest British garrison in the world with more than 13,000 people, a number that is expected to almost double by 2020.
We support primary care in North Yorkshire by finding, developing and delivering new ways of working that benefit patients and deliver value.
There are four strategies that Heartbeat Alliance will adopt that support the service areas in delivering our plans:
Management support to practices
Leadership in the provision of primary healthcare
Primary care-based research
Workforce planning and support
